WIND SAFETY PROFESSIONALS – MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or Advanced Technical degree/Diploma in Health & Safety engineering related field
  • Minimum of 3 yrs experience in wind, energy, power generation
  • Fluent in English
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE standards & regulations for the identified country/region
  • Proficiency in contractor/ subcontractor HSE management, including mobilization/demobilization, pre-qualification requirements & post-work assessment
  • Proven expertise in jobsite hazard assessment/analysis/solution, risk assessments, incident investigation & root cause analysis
  • Development/implementation of processes & procedures, including comprehensive EH&S plans
  • Experience with a major wind energy contractor/client/manufacturer
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have proven record in wind energy industry [onshore or offshore]

Additional requirements

  • The following GWO Training (up to date):
    1. GWO Working at Height and Rescue.
    2. GWO Fire Awareness.
    3. GWO Manual Handling.
    4. GWO First Aid
  • Own Harness & Lanyard (inspected & in date)
  • Medical for Working At Height

General areas of responsibility:

  • Assist project management in specific procedural documentation to be provided to technicians for use in their daily job requirements
  • Initiate all HSE alerts & drive investigation to closure through identification of root cause(s) & contributing factor(s) as well as assist in making amendments to work instructions in order to prevent future incidents from occurring
  • Ensure development and conveyance of site induction program
  • Provide a proactive approach to identifying potential safety risks & assist in development of strategies for resolution
  • Possess an understanding & knowledge of applicable federal, state & local regulations, region specific HSE manual including, but not limited to, site safety rules, code of safe practices, emergency response plans and environmental policies.
  • Reporting of incidents & pertinent information to regional QSE
  • Ownership for and functionality of site Emergency Response Plan
  • 90% time in field, 10% time in office
  • Climb turbine at least twice weekly (minimum) to perform observations
  • Oversee safety at railheads or other remote project sites

  • Support project team through site set-up, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and any service and/or repair of turbines
  • Assist with any other procedures in efforts to maintain a safe work environment at all times
  • Work with Project / Site Manager to onboard new workers/contractors and ensure they have the necessary safety documentation, training, skills, awareness and attitude to work safely
  • Report any safety concerns immediately
  • Create and promote a positive and engaging safety culture on site
  • Report weekly to Coyle Group Wind Operations Manager
  • Attend any training and upskilling events as requested
  • Ensure your own competency certs and training skills are up to date
  • Maintain good clear records of safety related information
  • Upload and report to Client via their internal web portal
  • Attend all meetings related to safety and ensure your presence is visible and your recommendations are heard, understood and followed through
  • Create safety initiatives that will support the goal of incident/injury free
  • Interact in a meaningful way with all parties regardless
  • Deliver documentation and reports in a timely manner
  • Respect every persons opinion and create an open door policy that allows everyone to contribute to safety
  • Include all workers in the decision making process
  • Ensure safety is at the forefront of everyone’s thought process when starting in the morning right through to the end of the day
  • Show leadership and passion for safety
  • Carry out safety reviews, accident / incident reports / observation reports
  • Carry out site inductions / site safety meetings
